Life has a way of throwing unexpected challenges our way. One moment, we feel like we’re in control, and the next, we’re hit with pain, disappointment, or rejection. But what if viewed these painful moments as not being sent to break us but indeed to shape us into something greater?
I’ve been reflecting a lot lately as I approach a huge milestone bringing my book into the world in just nine months. It’s a moment of celebration, yet also a moment of deep gratitude. And strangely enough, one of the things I’m most thankful for is something I once wished had never happened to me.
From Pain to Purpose
As a teenager, I experienced bullying that left me feeling worthless. The words, the actions, the isolation they all planted a seed of self-doubt within me. I carried the belief that I wasn’t good enough for years, allowing it to shape how I saw myself and my potential. It affected my confidence, choices, and how I showed up in the world.
But now I view these painful experiences as a blessing because, If not for those painful moments, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
That hurt, that deep sense of not being enough, it became the very thing that led me to my true purpose. It drove me to heal, to understand, and ultimately, to help others. My journey of overcoming self-doubt and rebuilding my confidence became the foundation for my work as a therapist and coach. Now, I have the privilege of supporting women in stepping into their power, breaking free from limiting beliefs, and creating lives and businesses they truly love.
Thank You to the Bullies
It’s taken me years to say this, but I can now look back and say: Thank you!
Thank you to the bullies who made me feel like I wasn’t enough. Because of you, I found my voice.
Thank you for the moments of pain, because they pushed me to heal.
Thank you for making me doubt myself, because in proving those doubts wrong, I became stronger than I ever imagined.
If you had told my teenage self that one day, I’d be grateful for those experiences, I wouldn’t have believed you. But life’s twists and turns have a way of bringing meaning to even the darkest moments.
Turning Pain into Power
So, if you’re going through something difficult right now, I want you to know this: One day, you’ll look back and see the strength you gained from this moment. You’ll see how it shaped you into the person you were always meant to be.
